Kemenkominfo Encourages JSC to Develop Smart Economy

Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kemenkominfo) encourages Jakarta Smart City (JSC) to develop smart economy by applying non-cash system in all financial transactions.
Later it will be directed to smart economy development. I think this is not about service but how to make smart environment in Jakarta
Kemenkominfo's Informatics Application Directorate General, Samuel A. admitted, JSC which developed by Jakarta Communication Informatics and Statistic Dept. (Kominfotik) is good enough. But his side suggests to also develop smart economy thus collected data can be used in making decision in food sector policy.
"Later on, it will be directed to smart economy development. I think this is not about service but how to make smart environment in Jakarta," he said at City Hall, Wednesday (8/30).
Non-Cash Transaction to Prevent Corruption and Illegal LeviesHe wants smart economy program can be started early in Jakarta. Thus it can be followed by other regions in the future.
"I hope it starts from Jakarta. Where people doesn't need to bring cash anymore, but just use one online or digital payment method," he expressed.
According to him, regional government will get more data in every transactions with cashless society. Especially that related to food necessity in Jakarta.
"By using cashless, its analysis can be more accurate. Even to analyze food necessities. So it can predict food necessity and availability," he explained.
Jakarta Diskominfotik Head, Dian Ekowati explained, recently cashless system has been applied in several Jakarta areas. For example in buying cheap food for Jakarta Pintar card (KJP) holder, flat residents, and PHL personnel.
"Cashless transaction has been applied in several transactions. We will develop for other transactions later," she closed.
